Super Junior to E.L.F.s: 'Not 15, but 50 more years'
Legendary K-pop boy group Super Junior treated their steadfast fans with almost four hours of fun and laughter during their fan meeting last Saturday, November 7.
On Naver's VLive, the 9 members--Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun--walked down memory lane as they looked back on all the records they've produced in their 15 years in the industry.
They were also treated by staff with a video montage of all the Super Show concerts they did in several continents worldwide, with Leeteuk sharing that they were slated to do a Northern America tour this year. But due to COVID-19, it was canceled.
Following that, the members also had a mini-game where they guessed which Super Junior song and album jacket were deemed by ELFs as the best, that being “One More Chance” as the best track and “Play” as the best album jacket--both in which maknae Kyuhyun didn't participate in.
“I know what ELF wants. It's the album I'm not a part of--Black Suit!” he shouted during the game, after correctly guessing the answer.
After more than two hours, Super Junior then proceeded with the second half of their fan meeting by performing live for their audience.
The members performed “Miracle,” “Devil,” “This Is Love,” “Evanesce,” “One More Chance,” “U,” and so much more.
They also performed their latest track, “The Melody,” before thanking all their fans for their support all these years.
Siwon Choi said it best, “Let's continue together, yes, until 50 years.”
Kyuhyun added in English, “No fifteen, yes, fifty!”
The Renaissance
On November 9, Super Junior posted a teaser video of their 10th full-length album titled “The Renaissance,” which is scheduled to be released in December.
Its first teaser showed the story of three men of different personalities in classic tarot-style graphics. Their story ends with their overcoming hardships and the promise of an eternal journey on a new path.
The “three men” described in the beautiful teaser were Shindong as the Versatile Man, Heechul as the Beautiful Man, and Siwon Choi as the Passionate Man.
The teaser is reportedly a condensed version of their history as individuals and as a group, and more details about the album will be shared in the coming weeks leading to its release.
